Meet Clarice

Hayden was one of the lucky kids to receive a very special elf on the shelf from Santa Claus.  As soon as the elf arrives, your child has to name her/him.  Hayden chose the name Clarice (named after Rudolf's girlfriend).  Clarice's job is to keep a close eye on Hayden everyday and then at night, she flies back to the North Pole to report her behavior to Santa Claus.  The rule is you can not touch the elf or else she loses her magic powers and would not be able to report to Santa each night.  Hayden can also tell Clarice her wishes and Clarice will let Santa know when she flies back to the North Pole.  When Clarice returns from the North Pole, she will be in a different location of the house and Hayden gets to look for her when she gets up.

 

Clarice made her arrival on Sunday afternoon while Hayden was napping.  Ironically we had just finished decorating the tree before she layed down for her nap.  :)  So Clarice made herself at home at the top of the Christmas tree.

Hayden was sooo excited when she found her special elf.  She also received a book so we read it right away so she knew the rules.  It was super cute listening to Hayden when she thought no one was looking.  I overheard her saying, "Hi elf, I want a big Minnie and a big Daisy for Christmas!"  And she must have said hi to the elf about 50 times that day!  Ha!!  So now Hayden is sooo excited to wake up in the morning and go see where Clarice is hanging out for the day.  In fact, Hayden is back to waking up before 6am due to her excitement!!  Yawn!!!  So here are a few pictures of what Clarice has been up to so far!

I am happy to report Hayden's behavior has been sooo good this week as she is always thinking about Clarice watching her!  Ha!!  Looks like our little elf friend is working!!
